Borussia Dortmund superstar and Chelsea target Erling Haaland has revealed that he is “sad” that Jadon Sancho has joined Manchester United and left Dortmund. Sancho’s move still hasn’t been announced by either club or the player, but a fee of £73 million has been agreed, and so have personal terms. In fact, that has been the case since the start of July, and Man Utd have revealed the deal is done. However, is hasn’t been made official yet, although that is expected in the next few days. The pair struck up and incredible relationship on the pitch during their time as teammates, with Sancho’s vision often setting Haaland up for a one-on-one chance. With Sancho gone, question marks over how many goals Haaland will score haven’t really arisen, but it could be a cause for concern for the Norwegian. Speaking to Astro Football, Haaland revealed that: “Me and Jadon understood each other very well, and he’s a top player. So, yeah of course it’s sad that he’s gone, but that’s how it is, that’s football, you never know what will happen.” The pair excelled together, and last season Sancho assisted Haaland on six separate occasions in the league, which was the third most prolific assister to goal-scorer pairing in the Bundesliga. They were only behind Filip Kostic assisting Andre Silva (eight times) and Thomas Muller assisting Robert Lewandowski (seven times).

In total, Haaland scored 27 Bundesliga goals and assisted six in 27 Bundesliga starts last seasons, whilst Sancho scored eight and assisted 11 in 24 league starts.
Therefore they had a combined 52 goal contributions in the league in 2020/21, whilst Dortmund scored 75 goals, meaning they were responsible for 69% of the goals scored by the club last term.
What will Sancho add to Manchester United?
In a similar vein to how Cristiano Ronaldo was upset that Mesut Ozil was allowed to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal, Haaland feels the same way in regards to Sancho.
The pair had a telepathic relationship, and that understanding is something that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping Sancho picks up with Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.

Last season, the Englishman created 12 big chances in the league, which would’ve ranked second in Man Utd’s squad, behind only Bruno Fernandes.
This, added to the fact that United desperately need a right winger to fill that hole, means Sancho is the perfect signing for a club hoping to regain its status as the best in England.
