Pogba protests: What PSG fans really think of Man Utd star July 24, 2021 by Jürgen Götze Paul Pogba has been told by a section of Paris Saint-Germain supporters that he is not welcome at the club amid links that suggest he could make a summer move from Manchester United. Pogba has one year left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, making him available for a cut-price deal this summer or for free in 12 months. Reports suggest that he has turned down a massive contract offer from Man Utd while the English press stated on Friday that PSG are ready to launch a €50 million (£43m) raid on him this summer. Related articles These suggestions were strengthened on Saturday, when it was reported by The Telegraph that PSG are confident of getting a deal done. Some PSG supporters, however, have told Pogba that he is not welcome at the club. Banners have been hung up around the vicinity of Parc des Princes telling the Man Utd star to stay put. “Pogba, you should listen to your mother. She doesn’t want you here and neither do we!” state three identical homemade banners shown by RMC. What do PSG fans think of Pogba? While these banners would seem to suggest that Pogba might receive a hostile welcome if he were to return to PSG, the overwhelming feeling among supporters of the club is that the World Cup winner would be welcome. Indeed, it is telling that these banners appear to be work of a single individual as they are all written in the same handwriting. As one Twitter user pointed out: “The banner totally ridicules us while there is only a small minority who share the same ideas as it. The majority of supporters do not agree with it at all.” Another added: “Definitely idiots. Even if they are among our supporters, they are never happy. Pogba will be welcome.” “This feels like the actions of Marseille fans,” another replied. “Our supporters are idiots, but not to this point.” Pogba’s possible Man Utd departure to PSG, then, is unlikely to have been jeopardised because of this action.
